Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older (By January of 2027)
- Must have your High School Diploma or GED
If you are not already a student, begin by applying for admission.
If you are a current credit student at Âé¶¹¹û¶³ and have an L Number, and select "I have completed program requirements and am applying to a special admission program."
If you previously attended Âé¶¹¹û¶³ as a credit student but have not taken courses for four terms, you will need to re-apply to update your account.
Meet with a Health Professions academic advisor or email HPAdvising@lanecc.edu to discuss course options.
In order to apply for the Respiratory Care Program, you must complete the following prerequisite courses before the program starts in fall:

Mathematics (4 credits):
- MTH 65 – Beginning Algebra or higher math (4 Credits) or higher
Medical Terminology (3 credits)
- Medical Terminology 1 (HP 100)
Anatomy and Physiology (12 credits total)
- Anatomy And Physiology 1 (BI 231z) (4 Credits)
- Anatomy And Physiology 2 (BI 232z)(4 Credits)
- Anatomy And Physiology 3 (BI 233z)(4 Credits)- You maybe in progress with this course at time of application, must be completed prior to Fall 2026

Have courses from another college?
Submit Non-Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Official Transcripts to Enrollment Services:
- All courses from other colleges used as prerequisites must be recorded on your official transcript. It is your responsibility to plan ahead and order transcripts prior to the application deadline.
- Transcripts should be sent to and received by Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Enrollment Services by the application close date. Submit non-Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Transcripts.
Request Course Equivalency Evaluation (if needed):
- Courses taken at other colleges may be eligible to use on your application.
- Go to the Enrollment Services website on Transferring Credits and use the “.â€
If courses do not appear as equivalent, email: HPAdvising@lanecc.edu.
- All prerequisite courses must be completed and appear on your Âé¶¹¹û¶³ transcript or submitted official non- Âé¶¹¹û¶³ transcripts prior to fall entry.
- Note all applicable classes and credits carefully. Do not leave course, school, term, or number credits information blank. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
- Credit will not be given if you do not enter course information even if it’s on your transcript.
- Upload each required or supplemental form into the portal prior to submitting the application.
- Make sure to click on the final "Submit" button after you review your application.
- Sign and return of all forms and necessary materials sent by email to you after you have confirmed your program acceptance.
- Attend the mandatory General Orientation to discuss program expectations. (TBD date, likely in August)
- Be ready to attend class in fall!
