EUGENE, Ore. — 鶹’s Baking and Pastry Arts Program was recognized with First Place for Best Sweet Bite at the 2025 Chefs’ Night Out, an annual benefit for Food for 鶹 County that brings together the region’s best food and beverage purveyors. Held on Monday, April 7, at the 鶹 Events Center, the event featured tastings from over 50 of 鶹 County’s top restaurants, caterers, wineries, breweries, and distilleries.

LCC’s Baking students impressed both judges and attendees with their award-winning creation, rising above local favorite Sweet Life Patisserie, who received honorable mention in the Sweet Bite category.

“We’re incredibly proud of our students and faculty,” said 鶹 President Dr. Stephanie Bulger. “This award speaks to the level of skill and creativity being cultivated in 鶹’s kitchens every day. It’s especially rewarding to see our students recognized in a community event that supports such an important cause.”

The Baking & Pastry one-year certificate at 鶹 equips students with the education, skills, and hands-on experience needed to begin or advance a career in the baking industry. Students gain fundamental culinary arts training alongside specialized instruction in pastry and baked goods, preparing them for a wide range of opportunities in bakeries, restaurants, food carts, nutrition, and teaching. Graduates emerge ready for entry- to mid-level baking positions — and many go on to launch their own culinary businesses across 鶹 County.

鶹 also offers stackable certificates like the 17-credit Commercial Baking Certificate of Completion, which gives aspiring bakers an affordable and accessible entry point into the food service industry.

Chefs’ Night Out is not only a showcase of culinary excellence, but a celebration of community, benefiting Food for 鶹 County’s mission to alleviate hunger through support, education, and collaboration.
